In an exclusive interview on June 26 in Seoul, Gaius, VP of Gaming at Virtuals and CEO of ReadyGamer, sat down with Brian Newar, founder of Swept Media, to discuss the future of AI in gaming and its deepening ties to Web3 technology.
ReadyGamer, a joint venture between Virtuals and Sovrun, is pioneering the development of modular AI agents for gaming environments. According to Gaius, ReadyGamer is focusing on Roblox due to its massive user base, with plans to later expand into platforms like Unity and Unreal Engine.
The ultimate goal is to create versatile AI companions that function across both Web2 and Web3 games.
Gaius described how ReadyGamer’s AI agents are evolving beyond simple tools. “We’re working on AI companions that can teach, recommend purchases, and serve as quest givers all in one,” he said.
This integrated functionality offers clear utility to developers by enhancing player engagement and increasing in-game revenue. The team is exploring a token model called COMPA to represent these agents in the broader gaming ecosystem.

He also touched on the token mechanics within Virtuals’ ecosystem, where each AI agent is launched with its own token, always paired with the native Virtuals token. This “parent-child token” model creates a layered token structure that could lead to dynamic revenue-sharing opportunities between games and AI agents. While still theoretical, the model is designed to address a significant gap in Web3: real revenue generated directly by AI agents.

Beyond gaming, Gaius highlighted the growing utility of AI in Web3 social platforms, especially on X (formerly Twitter), where AI is automating repetitive engagement tasks previously handled by key opinion leaders (KOLs).
When asked why he came to Korea, Gaius said his goal is to connect with both Web3 and Web2 game developers—particularly those in the Roblox ecosystem—to test and iterate on ReadyGamer’s AI systems.
With AI agents poised to reshape gameplay and monetization models, ReadyGamer’s cross-platform approach could help define the next chapter of Web3 gaming.
